Pile Toe Driving

The IHC Pile Toe Driving technique is able to drive 30’ conductor down hole from any operative offshore installation vessel. The IHC S-90 TD has an outside diameter of only 26” to fit easily through the Rotary Table on the Drill Floor.

Toe Drive Application and Advantages may be summarised as “Pre-installed Conductors prior to rig arrival at lower cost, higher technical quality and no environmental impact”

  • Energy transferred to toe of the conductor.
  • Higher static shaft resistance (bearing capacity) due to full displacement of the soil.
  • Low overall centre of gravity (c.o.g) which ensures also a near to vertical conductor.
  • Conductor head can be kept under constant tension during the initial stages of driving.
  • No requirement for a temporary seabed stability frame whilst maintaining verticality requirements.
  • Empty conductor/casing after driving.
  • Rig time and cost savings
