Conductors

Driving of conductor piles has always been a speciality of the Hydrohammer, in particularly the models S-70, S-90, S-150 and S-200 are widely known and successfully used for this application.

Offshore conductors are driven from jack-up drilling rigs or drilling and production platforms. Piling can be done above or underwater in a wide range of water depths. For installations onshore, work is done from either a drilling rig or by using a land frame.

The conductor will be driven until it reaches the desired penetration or meets refusal. In either case, the conductor needs to have adequate bearing capacity to support subsequent drilling operations.

Typical Hydrohammer features for conductor driving:

  • Excellent controllability of energy
  • High performance
  • Continuously driving without exchange of cushion material
  • Slender hammer design makes it possible to pas through the rotary table on the drill floor
  • Relatively low weight enables the hammer to be used in small drilling towers
  • Save use in circumstances where there is a risk for explosion
  • No pollution
