1990 - Introduction of the IHC SC-series for concrete piles

IHC Hydrohammer B.V. was the first manufacturer to introduce a hammer with an accelerated ram to drive concrete piles. Although the acceleration of the SC-series is less than that of the S-series, it does deliver a high blow count and high performance. Pile fracture and pile head damage can be prevented by the use of the correct hammer cushion and pile cushion, in spite of the acceleration (max. impact velocity of 5.3 m/s).
